The role
Legal support to an NGO working on legal aid and prison decongestion, placed through the firm. Pre-trial detention is the largest part of Nigeria’s prison population, and the work behind that figure is case file review, bail applications and moving matters that have stopped moving. Open to 0-2 years post-call, so it is one of the few routes into public interest work that does not ask for experience first.
